26 Apr 5 Ways to Spruce Up Your Deck or Patio

It’s spring and time for “Spring Cleaning”.  What an interesting notion.  The idea of spring cleaning is handed down from years ago when homes used coal fuel to heat their living space.  The soot and smoke from the coal would coat the walls and almost everything else with a black film that would need to be cleaned.  And so, every spring the occupants would attack the inside of their home with mop, brush and cleaner.

Springtime still represents a renewal and renovation of all things, especially around your home.  That’s why we want to share the 5 ways you can spruce up your deck or patio.  Do you have a deck that needs some tender loving care?  Well, to help you, we have put together some unique ideas you can use to spruce up that old dreary deck or patio.

    Think Grow Boxes

Nothing changes a dull, drab outdoor living area like living plants.  It’s a fact of nature.  Take a non organic object add in one organic life form and voila, instant party place.  Take a look at a few examples of ways you can transform your outdoor deck or patio.

    Lighting That Sets The Mood

Add some creative lighting to your deck or patio.  With well thought out lighting your ordinary deck or patio will come alive and become the highlight of your home.  Whether it’s recessed lighting, tucked away in the side of your deck or patio wall or ornate fixtures that tower above you, lighting that is designed to enhance rather than overwhelm will turn your backyard into a entertaining showplace.  (Images courtesy of Highpoint Deck Lighting)

Cover That Thing

A creative gazebo or patio cover will create the perfect entertaining space as well as provide shelter on those not so perfect days.  Adding an artistic patio or deck cover is a very cost effective way to turn that open space into an intimate area for private parties or just for relaxing after a long day.

Time For Smores and Fun

Who doesn’t like a good old fashioned campout?  Unfortunately, such enjoyment happens all too infrequently due to the hectic pace of today’s modern living.  Why not bring the camping adventure to your own backyard?  A fire pit is an affordable addition to any patio or even a outdoor deck.  Cozy and warm, an outdoor fire pit is an excellent idea for your deck or patio upgrade.

Add a Spa or Hot Tub to Heat Things Up

Nothing says luxury like an outdoor spa or hot tub.  Affordable and easy to install, hot tubs can add just the right blend of fun and relaxation to your deck or patio.  This is probably the most important investment you will make in yourself.  There are a plethora of styles and options to choose from and the price range varies as well.  One thing is sure, an outdoor spa is worth every penny you spend towards it and more.

I’m really enjoying the theme/design of your site. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility problems? A small number of my blog readers have complained about my site not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox. Do you have any ideas to help fix this issue?

Short of adding some CSS to correct each format issue, I don’t have any suggestions. We do not really worry about browser compatibility as our market is very localized.
